PERSONALITY:
Gemma is, in general, a hellion. Which would probably make sense considering her body is currently occupied by a demon who has taken on her body's name.
Gemma isn't doing anything concrete with her life, other than causing absolute hell. She can move from state to state depending on what she feels like, taking on different identities if she feels like it. Like all demons, she is a bit heartless, just out to cause pain and mischief. She wouldn't ever say she cares for human life, but she thinks it's more fun causing drama than actually killing people.
Gemma's favourite activities include partying, stealing, intoxicating, and causing mayhem in any way she can. She has been known to steal boyfriends, husbands, wives, girlfriends, ousting people's secrets, bullying, influencing, coercing, and a myriad other things.

HISTORY:
When she was a human, Gemma De Vries was maybe a bit more innocent than she was now. But only by a little bit. The only daughter of a very wealthy couple, Gemma had always been spoilt and out doing anything and everything she wanted. She 'coped' with her lonely childhood by acting out against her parents, taking up drinking and drugs at an early age.
When the demon chose her body to take over, hardly anyone noticed anything different with her. If she started bullying a little more, getting caught or getting blamed for more things (like sleeping with her ex-best friend's boyfriend), people just shook their heads and said that Gemma was spinning more out of control.
It wasn't too hard to arrange for Gemma's parents' deaths. A tragic accident on a chopper when she was eighteen, and with a little help convincing her family's lawyer, she was able to have everything put into her name. She has since kept it as a base of sorts, but still travelled around the country taking on identities as she felt like using them. Gemma has been high school students, college students, worked in fast food, as a model, in a hotel, in a motel, in a beach club - anything that struck her fancy as something new to do.
Within the last few weeks, she has decided to settle down in Mystic Falls, Virginia for a little bit. She'd heard rumours in the demon mills that it was a new place to be, so she followed them to join in on the fun. High school student with a constant presence at Mystic Grill (not actually working there, although she gives off the vibe that she does), Gemma is pretty settled into her new role and keen to have fun.
