PERSONALITY:
How to best describe the only female original vampire? Its not exactly an easy task. Rebekah is an enigma. Though the best way to describe her is loyal. She's incredibly loyal to her brothers, especially Niklaus, pretty much to a fault. She always wants to prove her worth to her siblings, but Klaus has some odd hold on her that the others do not. She thinks that Kol is far too vain, that Elijah is incredibly honorable but almost too much so, Finn was a bore, but Niklaus though always managing to hurt them is the glue that holds them all together. One thing that bothers Rebekah over anything else is that she will never be able to have a family. As she was made a vampire at the age she was at the time, her body would never change from that which it is now. She can not have children, and that destroys her. She wants to love and be loved in return, but how can any man truly want to be with someone who is unable to give them their progeny? It is one of the hardest lessons she has had to learn in her many centuries of life.
Rebekah has quite the temper, if you get on her bad side you will be lucky to live through it. Her brothers hurt her on a regular basis, and there is nothing she can do about that, and it kills her. She has been know to dispatch those that would harm her, but in the case of the other originals shes not so lucky. Plus who would really want to kill their sibling? Maybe Kol would, but that was beside the point. For the most part, Rebekah is just someone who wants to be accepted and to be loved. Sure, she tends to go about it the way wrong way, but she doesn't know any other way than to do everything with passion, and unfortunately for others, sometimes that ends in their death. She can't help but fall for men who either are bad for her, her brothers would take down, or who break her heart because they use her in the process. She pretty much just is a very bad judge of character.

HISTORY: Many centuries of life, pretty much a millenia, lead Rebekah Mikaelson down quite a road. Her parents fled to the new world in the hopes to protect their family, and it was there that her mother had an affair with a werewolf resulting in Niklaus, and then she, Kol, and their youngest brother Henrik were born. Unfortunately Henrik was killed by wolves and her father Mikael, talked her mother Esther, into turning them into vampires to save the lives of their other children. Thus, vampires were born. All of her human life she and Niklaus protected each other, and so she never stopped being that way even after they became vampires. After they found out that the white oak tree that their mother used the power of to weave the spell could kill them, they burned it to the ground. Mikael then found out about Esther having an affair and the next thing they knew their mother was dead. It destroyed the children but they vowed to be together always and forever after that.
They found that their father was trying to track them down and kill them, because he believed that what they had become were abominations. They fled to France first, and found out they could sire other vampires. The first that she ever sired was a woman named Aurora de Martel, who was actually in love with Klaus. It was completely accidental that she turned her, she had seen Klaus heal someone with their blood, and so had done so to Aurora when the girl had slit her wrists, she fed her her blood to save her but instead the girl jumped out the window in order to become a vampire too. The siblings used the three new sired vampires Lucien, Aurora and Tristen to get away from their father and they had to flee from France after that.
A century later they found themselves in Italy, where Rebekah fell for a man named ALexander. He was a member of the Brotherhood of the Five, a group of vampire hunters who planned to eradicate vampires with their cure for immortality. Alexander took advantage of her falling in love with him and daggered her and all of her brothers with the white oak daggers. Though it didn't work on Klaus and he killed all of the group. He undaggered them all and yelled at Rebekah and intergated her. After she buried Alexander, as she still loved him in spite of everything, they left Italy. In 1492 she first met Katherine. She hated her from the start, as she saw her as the reason that her brother would not be able to end his hybrid curse because she was turned instead of sacrificed as the doppleganger had to be in order to stop Klaus' curse. In 1702, Kol had become hard to control and their father found them in Spain. Klaus and Elijah daggered Kol and they all escaped to the New World once more.
They landed in New Orleans and it was there that she would begin to try to have a symbolance of a life again. In 1820 she fell in love with the governors son, who she wanted to turn so they could be together forever. Klaus, upset, killed the boy and told her no one would ever be good enough for her. Not long after he adopted a slave boy named Marcellus and kept him as his ward. When Marcellus grew older he and Rebekah fell for one another, but Klaus would not allow them to be together. He daggered Rebekah for 52 years, turned Marcellus, and kept Rebekah in a box for that long. When he undaggered her he told her that he had given Marcel an ulitmatum, to be with her as a human or to be a vampire without her, and he had chosen the latter, which happened to be the case. It destroyed her, but she carried on.
In the early 1900's Kol was back with them, and one night she found him searching for something in all the rooms, she found out what he was doing, trying to take down Niklaus and she went to tell Nik what Kol was up to. She hadn't meant for what happened next to happen, but it did. The girl Kol loved was a witch, and was helping him, which angered Klaus. He found the girl, killing her in front of Kol before daggering him again. She hadn't meant for the girl to be hurt, and she could see the pain and betryal in Kol's eyes as he was daggered, but there was nothing she could do about it. She knew he wouldn't forgive her for that one. She made sure the girl was properly taken care of, for his sake, though Klaus would have gladly burned her body and been done with it.
In the 1920's she met Stefan Salvatore and fell head over heels for him. Though unfortuantely their father found them again. He came to the club they were at and shot into the building with wooden bullets. She lost her mothers necklace which she had had since her death. Klaus compelled Stefan to forget about them. Rebekah didn't want to leave Chicago without Stefan, but she had no choice, Klaus daggered her and took her away anyway. Not undaggering her again for 90 years. She woke up in Mystic Falls after that. She reunited with Stefan, who used her to try to find out where Mikael was. She met Elena, who she instantly disliked, and things went down hill from there. She wanted nothing more than to get away from that place, but she has to stay where Niklaus is, or he will hunt her down himself.
