HISTORY:
[ BRENDAN FRYE ] - father, never around, left pretty much as soon as he knew maryanne was pregnant; jakob only found out who his father was when his half-brother and cousin came knocking
[ MARYANNE TUCK ] - mother, human, struggled to raise twin boys who had too much energy and strength; never liked talking about their father
[ JARED CAYDEN TUCK ] - twin brother, practically his other half; they're pretty different from each other but they feel this compliments them more than distances them
***
[ CHILDHOOD ]
[ TRIGGER ]
He and Jared were twenty when it happened. There was a dodgy guy in red flannel and beat up shoes suspiciously following this lady with long curly blonde hair and her baby in the stroller. It wasn't as though the Tuck twins were looking for trouble, but with something like that happening in their own small town, of course they felt they were entitled to keep an eye on the guy.
They weren't going to do anything drastic, just keep an eye out on the guy and the lady, make sure nothing happened to her. Except something did - just as the lady was entering her house, the guy made an attempt to push her and follow her in. The Tuck twins didn't even think twice; with synchronised moves borne from being twins, Jared and Jakob grabbed the guy before he could make it into the house.
The woman shrieked, but the boys dragged the culprit away before he could do any damage. They had successfully dragged the guy to a secluded corner but it would seem Jared and Jakob had the same thought at the same time: the impact of twin punches to the temple knocked the guy dead.
It was only later they would find out that it was the woman's ex-partner, against whom she had a restraining order and who she had been running away from. It was after that when they first transformed into what they truly were.
[ BROTHERHOOD ]
They were twenty-three when Baltair and Achilles found them. It took a scuffle or two for the boys to stop raising their hackles at these strangers who claimed to be exactly like them, and it took more time and alcohol for the boys to sit down and listen to their family story. Oh yeah, because they were all related, and not just by the affliction they shared.
Brendan Frye was their father. He too had been a werewolf, and was responsible for passing the gene on to his twin sons. Baltair explained that their father had plans for a werewolf army, starting out with a werewolf gang, that was loyal to Brendan Frye through more than just wolf-pack mentality - through literal blood and familial loyalty. Perhaps Brendan thought this would result in the strongest bonds of loyalty he could make.
Baltair was everything Brendan had hoped he would be. Baltair was loyal to a fault, strong, quick to pick up on fighting techniques, and was practically a soldier in that he would do everything his father told him. In fact, Brendan had forced Baltair to murder when he was only a teenager, ensuring that he would activate the werewolf gene.
Brendan had forced his nephew Achilles to murder as well. Cousins through their mothers, Baltair and Achilles were like brothers, especially more so when Achilles' werewolf gene was activated. Brendan fed them stories about how they would rule the world with their powers, but while Baltair easily believed his father, Achilles was a little more hesitant. Achilles had a human father, and he didn't see why werewolves needed to be killing humans and instilling fear.
Slowly, Achilles made Baltair realise that Brendan was manipulating them, and that Brendan didn't really care for either of them. Achilles connected some dots about a lover of Baltair's that mysteriously died, and figured that Brendan had killed the girl to stop her from being a distraction. That escalated to a fight when Achilles openly accused Brendan of lying, and Brendan ordered Baltair to kill Achilles. Baltair instead turned on his own father, and with the help of Achilles, defeated Brendan to the point where the elder Frye had to escape.
The cousins eventually found out that Brendan had had plans for his werewolf army for years, and had in fact been 'sowing his seeds' to ensure he had a solid group who he could collect, train, and get to recruit and teach other werewolves. Baltair and Achilles set out to track down the kids before Brendan could, and that is how they found the Tuck twins.
Their family grew larger when they tracked down Arlo James, and now they are all together heading for Mystic Falls, where rumour has it they have another brother.
